Nonapeptide prevents
the melanocytes from synthesizing abnormal amounts of melanin when
the skin is exposed to sunshine. ¡K(Jul. 30 2008) (continues¡K)
Nonapeptide competes against the natural ligand, £\-MSH (£\-melanocyte
stimulating hormone), to block melanin synthesis. Nonapeptide, a
biomimetic peptide, does not allow the hormone (£\-MSH) to tell the
melanocyte to produce melanin, thus preventing and lightening
hyperpigmentation. Nonapeptide can be used in sun-spot reducing and
face & skin whitening.
